The new age of the NBA

By: Jimmie Sykes

Young talent is here. Young talent is now. The future of the league is right before our eyes.

Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid, Karl Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, Ben Simmons, Donavan Mitchell, Nikola Jokic Kristaps Porzingis. With many more to name, the time is now to embrace these young athletes and the way they play the game.

Teams in the east that's front faced with young talent such as the Celtics, Sixers, and Bucks are scary to think about for the future. Even in the west, with a lot of rising stars on there end as well. Teams such as Portland and the Wizards with their great back courts are still relatively young as far as how great they can be in their careers.

When I watch the Lakers, I see a team that isn't too fond of losing and I like that. Their record isn't anything that's holding weight right now, but these guys may have a plan for the future. Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Julius Randle, and Brandon Ingram is a core four that needs to stay together. Bring in one more glue guy that will come in and patch things together and this team is ready.

Go Big or go home.

These new age big men are redefining basketball and I love it. They will post you up, put the ball on the floor, back you down, shoot it from deep. They have the whole arsenal. The post game died for a while and we've seen a lot of stretch fours and fives come and go. Although they're still there, these young big men are bringing back post game.

new heads of the east.

I feel as if the world is waiting on a team to dethrone Lebron from the east. I can't speak on how soon it will happen or who it will be. One thing I can say is I'm waiting to see someone try, seriously. Lebron has been in the finals every year since my freshman year of high school and I'm about to graduate college soon, like this year soon.

The Ben Simmons and Donovan Mitchell blew the top off completely for me with their style of play. Of course, they still got ways to go as far as polishing their game but this is only their rookie year. Ways to go.
